Bad Blogger...Bad Blogger

So a lot has happened since the last time I blogged, I just haven't really had to time to dive into it. I went straight from a Baby Shower to some late nights at work, to late nights at class, to homework and tests, to everything else. Here are some updates:

1. I CAN'T DO MATH. For some reason I CANNOT for the life of me figure out how far along I am unless my doctor tells me that day. At my last doctor's appointment, which I thought was my 36 week appointment, she told me I was only 34 weeks. I talked to her about my concern that her calculated due date was just not possible and she assured me that everything seemed average for how far long she had me. "I'll show her," I thought to myself, "when this baby comes closer to MY due date." I know, I know, the due date does not matter, I don't even know why I care so much. I think it's the thing inside of me that always has to be right. Anyways, as of this week, according to my doctor, I am 36 weeks going on 37. So my previous pictures/dates are probably a little off but oh well. I mean what do I know anyways...I'm not the expert here!

2. I HAVE GREAT FAMILY AND FRIENDS. My wonderful friends and family threw me a fabulous baby shower a few weeks ago. It was really fun and I was SO surprised with how many people actually attended. I guess you never really realize how many loved ones you have until they are all crammed in one house. The food was good, the games were fun (thanks Pam), the cake was yummy and I am just so grateful. We got so much stuff we needed and a lot more cute little stuff for our cute little guy. I don't think we'll ever have to buy this kid clothes! I'm kind of sad that I didn't get any pictures with people (I just completely forgot the day of) but my friend did grab some pics of the day's events. Sorry to those of you who had the front row viewing of the "opening of the gifts." After going through the pictures I realized I may have given you all a little "show" with my dress :( I know..very tasteless...but what can I say...I'm pretty large! But seriously, thank you to all of you. Even those that couldn't be there, I know you were there in spirit!

3. NO MORE LATE NIGHT CLASSES! After the shower, I finished my last in-person class! It's a good thing too because I don't know how much longer I would have made it sitting in class until 9 at night after working all day. I had to start taking more frequent bathroom breaks and just walking around the room because I was so uncomfortable. I am still taking my final class online and will be won't with that until May...but at least no more long class nights for a LONG time! And of course, I'm getting completing my Masters just in time for this booming job market to make it worth it. ;)

4. NURSERY IS DONE! Trey's room is finally done! After the shower and some last minute shopping, we finally have pretty much everything that we NEED NEED for this kid to come. We tested the baby monitor, washed all the sheets and clothes, packed the diaper bag, and now....wait...wait...and wait. I come home everyday and open up Trey's door and sometimes just sit and stare in his crib, wondering what it's actually going to be like to have him lying in it. What will he look like? Will he be fussy like his mommy? Will he be even-tempered like his daddy? I'm so excited to meet our little guy and finally have him meet all of our family and friends! And I think the dogs are getting anxious too because I'll catch them laying in Trey's room in front of his crib like they know he will be here before they know it. (P.S. I told you we had a large, orange, velvet wall that I wasn't too keen on. But the more I think about, when else can you have an entire orange velvet stage curtain in your house without being Hugh Hefner in the 70's? So I'm embracing it!)
