I got watch Cole for a little bit last week and I finally got to take some updated pictures of him. It was fun hanging having him over with just Deo and the dogs because we got a sneak peak at what it was going to be like having our very own little boy (although it definitely wasn't very realistic since he wasn't over long enough to have to feed him or even change his diaper). Cole had fun too playing with his soon-to-be cousin's toys!

Busy Weekend

So I think it's finally time to start slowing down. I've been going and going and going and I can start to feel the tiredness in my stomach. I think the remaining weeks are going to consist of a lot of rest, a lot of eating, and a lot of wonderful prenatal yoga. This weekend we pretty much finished our bedroom and the baby's room. I promised myself we would finally finish our bedroom before doing the baby's room when we first found out we were pregnant. I knew if we didn't get it done before the baby it would never get done. We also pretty much finished the nursery. We're still waiting on a few pieces, but for the most part it is ready to go! I'm really happy with the way it turned out, although we have an entire wall of orange velvet curtains that I'm not sure will stay as is. But I love the way his crib turned out, his name on the wall, and my home-made stencil to match the bedding. I know the way we've set everything is up is not baby-proof, but until we got the rest of our furniture that's the way it will stay.

32 Weeks

34 Weeks

So when I post my weeks, I go off of the due Date of March 13th. Technically, my due date is March 24th even though at my last sonogram my doctor said I was measuring 2 weeks further along. Because this date makes a lot more sense to me based off of the last day of period and when I'm pretty we conceived (I know...TMI) that's what I'm going off of. So really, I could be anywhere between 32 to 34 weeks right now...but 34 definitely makes me feel a lot better when looking at pictures like these! It's definitely weird to look back at my early pictures and see how skinny I look and wonder if I'll ever be that skinny again. It's also weird to think that I actually did look skinny when I'm always complaining about my weight. Oh..just to be that size again.

On a positive note...we should have the nursery pretty much done this weekend (hopefully). We've got the furniture, crib, bedding, blah blah blah... but just need to put it all together and organize it. All for our little Trey!

A Year of Change

Year 2009 is starting out with a lot of changes for our family. In about 2 and a half months, we will be expecting our first little bundle of joy. That is our first BIG change! The second big change is Deo's change of jobs. As of today, Deo started his new sales career with The McGraw-Hill Companies. He went through a pretty grueling almost 2 month interview process and was finally offered the job after Thanksgiving. Deo is, as of today, a regional sales representative for Southern Arizona and portions of Colorado. He will have a set number of colleges and universities and, basically, have to sell McGraw-Hill textbooks to professors. There is also a lot more that encompasses this job that appeals to Deo, such as working with professors to get their work published. He is super excited for this opportunity and for a chance to actually utilize his degree he worked so hard to achieve. So far, it seems like it will be a really good company that he will be able to grow within. For those of you that didn't know, he will be leaving his job as a Bank Manager after almost 4 years. He really enjoyed getting the managerial experience but in the end, Deo realized that he really enjoys sales and hopes take advantage of his past sales and management experience.

This new career means a lot of change for our growing family. First, it involves a lot of travel which scares the both of us a little, especially with our baby on it's way. But we're hoping we will be able to manage since he will be mostly doing short trips to Phoenix and around Southern Arizona. Another big change will be the fact that outside of traveling, he will be working from home. This may come as another challenge to us, but with all change we will learn to adjust to make it work. Even though there is an increase in travel there are some other perks to the job that we think will ultimately help out; he will get a company car, laptop, cell phone, and it's quite a bit more money than what he was making at the bank.

So far, 2009 is definitely a year of change but we're hoping it's a year of change for the better!

Baby's Room...Check

No, the baby's room isn't done yet. We actually haven't even started it. But we've finally made decisions on what we are going to do with is. Below is a picture of the Sahara bedding by Cocalo we decided on. This was a big step because I was all over the place with how I wanted to decorate the room. We basically had 4 completely opposite directions we were thinking about: 1) Jungle Animals, 2) Stars and Moons, 3) Nursery Rhymes or 4) Winnie the Pooh. What made it even worse is that I found really cute bedding for each one that I really liked. The Sahara one we decided on was actually Deo's find (I actually didn't care for it at all at first). But then it started to grow on me and the more I looked at it. We also found these really cute stuffed animals that we want to decorate with. Realizing that I have only about 10 weeks left, this break I started making more and more decisions about baby stuff. I worked diligently for about 2 days straight, reading my "Baby Bargains" book and surfing the net for items to put on my "wish list." So far, I've gotten the following items picked out: crib, mattress, bedding, furniture, wall color and decorations, stroller, car seat, pack n' play, diaper disposal system, and high chair. The Baby Bargains book, which I highly recommend to first-time moms, actually suggests to wait on a lot of the other "stuff" until the baby actually comes. This makes a lot of sense to me and I'm going to try to stick by this rule as much as possible as to not over-purchase. For instance, I was looking at swings and vibrating seats, but the book says that your baby might not even like either of them. It's suggestion, wait until your baby is born and then try it out to even see if and what kind your baby prefers. The other plus on waiting and not getting carried away with "new mom shopping syndrome" is the fact that my nephew will be outgrowing many of his things as our baby arrives. That way, hopefully Cole will hand many of these down to his new cousin! Finally I feel like things are starting to come together.
