So Much Going On...So Little Time

So much has happened since the last time I was able to get a good blog down. We celebrated multiple first holidays with our baby, welcomed my new nephew into the family, and even took some adventurous road trips! Now we're already in March and not looking back! OK...maybe just a little peek back.

1) Our first Christmas was fabulous with Trey. He definitely didn't quite get any of it, but is not loving all the toys he got from Santa. He especially loves his lion walker/rider and his alphabet letter magnets on the fridge.

2) After Christmas, we had a whirlwind vacation. First, we had a surprise baby shower for Julie at the Chantilly Tea House. Shortly thereafter, we went to San Diego to see the Wildcats "play" in the Holiday Bowl. We got a butts kicked, and that's putting in nicely, but it was a good experience. Afterward, we took an impromptu trip to Vegas to celebrate the New Year.

Here is Julie with her sisters, one who is also pregnant and due any day now!

Here is Trey all bundled up to bring in 2010 Vegas style.

3) Welcomed Charles Edward Thompson on January 15th. Julie went in for her scheduled c-section and everything went as planned. He was a big baby, weighing in over 10 lbs! I got to watch Ella and Cole while Adam and Julie were at the hospital which was a fun treat for me, too.

4) Before we knew it, February was here and we were celebrating Valentine's Day. My hunny sent me flowers at work which was a nice surprise. Trey got a special package from his Grandma and Grandpa Diaz with a cute teddy bear that smelled like chocolate.

5) Now we're in March and ready for some new adventures. I will be leaving for a week to take a group of students to New York City which will be my longest time away from the bubba. I know I will miss him but am looking forward to getting a whole week's worth of full nights sleep!

It's crazy to go back and see what all we've done so far since 2010 and we're only 2 month into it. While all the hectic events we had going on, we also managed to pile in work, Deo's work traveling, birthdays, and a new fitness class I signed up for that I'll have to blog about later!

One!

Exactly 1 week from today, it will be exactly 1 month from Trey's 1 year birthday! I can't believe how fast the first year went. Here is a picture I took on my phone last week when we were shopping in Babies'R Us. I saw this cute little Birthday Boy crown and Trey definitely seemed to be getting in the spirit of his special day!

Don't Quit on me Just Yet!

I'm still here, still checking blogs, still have things to blog about. It's been a busy last couple of months and it's been hard to find the time and energy to blog. But I will soon, so don't give up on me just yet!

I found this photo editing website (so I know it's probably been around forever, but I'm a little behind) picnik. I've been experimenting with the free functions to see if I would like to upgrade to the premium account (which still really isn't that expensive). OK, so I guess I got a little addicted to it. Here's some of the editing I did on some family pictures.

What's Your Super-Hero Power?

Out of all the things one could have a knack for, wouldn't be nice to have something useful? Well I think my special ability is very useful. I have this unique ability that comes in handy quite often. For some reason, I have the ability to always be somewhere "just at the right time." Now I know what you are thinking, this means I am never late. But this is not what this power does. Let me explain, Deo and I will go to the movie theater, walk-up to wait in line for tickets and a minute later 50 people will come out of nowhere and get in line behind us. I will go out to lunch with friends and walk right up to the counter to order our food. 30 seconds later, 20 people will arrive and get in line behind us. For some reason, I always get at a place right before it get's crazy busy. I joke with Deo that it is my super hero power to arrive just before the crowd. However, for every super hero power, there is just an equal kryptonite, if you will. I found that grocery stores weaken my power. Almost every place that I can think of, my power will execute just fine; but I have no effect on grocery store lines. Maybe the Evil Mastermind, Dr. Fry's, is my arch nemesis?
