Look in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane. No, it's just my dumb ass!

So I'm taking the time to publicly give myself a pat on the back. I felt very superwomanish today. Monday, Deo had surgery to go in and clean up his knee so he can hopefully walk without pain for at least for another 5-10 years until he will probably need a knee replacement (OK, so a little exaggeration but probably not too far off). After doing double duty at home since he has pretty much immobilized, I have been exhausted. I sleep like a rock, yet wake up feeling like I got no rest at all. As I pulled into work today, I realized how much I accomplished in just half a day.

Just this morning, I:
  1. got the baby dressed and ready (which included a shower with me)
  2. took the baby to the sitter's
  3. finished 2 loads of laundry
  4. collected the trash around the house
  5. fed the dogs
  6. took Deo to the doctor's
  7. stopped for Starbucks
  8. ate a healthy lunch
  9. changed Trey's bed sheets
  10. changed our bed sheets
  11. started packing for the long weekend
As I pulled into the parking lot at work I realized it was only 12:15 and I was feeling pretty proud. Then it hit me; I still had a full days work to get done before leaving or a week and a half. We're heading up tonight to Flagstaff for my brother-in-law's 8th grade promotion. We'll stay until Monday and then I head off to Florida for a work conference for the rest of the week. Hello June! Oh, I also wanted to give myself another shout out. For those of you that remember my blog about my baby weight; since joining WeightWatchers 6 weeks ago I've lost 10lbs!

This blog goes out to all you superwomen out there; I know I'm not the only one! I give props to you all...we make the world go round!

Hello Late 20's

Tuesday was my 27th Birthday and it really was the best birthday I have had in a long time! It started of with multiple Facebook Happy Birthday wishes, many of which were from people I have not heard from in a very long time. It gave me the chance to reconnect with some very good people in my life. I went to work and had got to have lunch with some of my favorite friends whom I am lucky enough to work with as well. We had yummy Thai food and I got my red curry fix for the month. After lunch, my good friend who just happens to be my boss took me for a pedicure at a place we use to frequent quite often. I got bright, glow-in-the-dark (literally) paint on my toes. After that, the hubs and I went to catch a summer blockbuster before the baby needed to be picked up from the sitter's. We watched Iron Man 2, which was OK. I really liked the 1st one and the 2nd one didn't live up to my expectations, but it was a good for what it was. After the movie, we swung by to get the Goongs, voted (which apparently worked!), and went home to start cooking dinner. My wonderful honey made a delicious Chilean sea bass (to die for) and invited my brother and his family over to join us. We hung out, ate good food, and feasted on a delicious fruit tart from Beyond Bread (that I really wanted for my b-day this year). It really as a great birthday and couldn't have asked for a better day!

Trey's 2nd and 3rd Mommies

Sometimes I wonder how we lucked out. Even there has been a little bit of drama the past year with Trey's daycare situation, everything ended up working out...and working out for the best. Isn't it funny how things happen like that?

Miss Angelique is Trey's primary sitter during the week. She's an in-home provider (in her home, not ours) and has two little ones of her own. One little girl who in school and a little boy who stays home during the day. Miss Diana, who lives with Angelique, has also been a big part of Trey's life even when he was with his previous sitter. We kind of get two for the price of one, since Diana pitches in and helps Angelique a lot of the days. Miss Diana has two kids as well, a little girl who goes to school and a little boy who stays home. Angelique watches two other little boys full-time which basically makes it a house full of boys for the most part.

Angelique has always been so great with the kiddos doing fun projects and learning activities during the day. For example, one week was butterfly week. All the kids made their own caterpillars which they fed all week. At the end of the week, the caterpillars went into their "cocoons" and the following week came out as beautiful butterflies that they got to take home. She also tries to get them out of the house whenever they can. They have gone to trips to the Children's Museum, the Wildlife Museum, and even lunches to Peter Pipers. A couple of weeks ago, she even took them up to Sabino Canyon to cool off in the rivers.

I'm so lucky to have both Angelique and Diana care for Trey. They love him so much and you can really tell he loves them, too. Since I can't stay at home full-time with Trey at this point in my life, I know that this really is the next best thing for him. Thanks so much...we love you!

The Perfect Day

My 2nd Mother's Day. I can't believe I have already had two Mother's Day. The day was pretty uneventful, just the way I wanted it. I woke up to my hunny and bubba bringing me a present in bed; a pretty aquamarine necklace (Trey's birthstone). Then the hunny made me a yummy egg and cheese breakfast sandwich with potatoes. Then we went on a family bike ride followed by a looong nap for me and the bubbs. After waking up from our slumber, we took the bubba outside to play in his lobster pool. Since it was so hot today, I couldn't resist getting in as well. My hunny made a yummy dinner (BBQ sirloin, zucchini chips and a baked potato) followed by some chocolate fondue with strawberries. Now, as I'm sitting here blogging, Trey and his daddy are watching the Suns game and the bubba drifts into a light sleep. A perfect day in my book!

My 1st Mother's Day up in Flagstaff.

Today relaxing in our "pool" on my 2nd Mother's Day.
